The Stories Behind the Styles
Every Name Tells a Story.
At Seashell Hues, each style is more than a design—it’s a tribute. Inspired by the spirit, strength, and heritage of the Caribbean and its people, our pieces are named with intention. Through this journal, we invite you to dive deeper into the meanings behind the names, honoring the cultures, deities, and histories that shape our world and our vision. Let these stories carry you somewhere sun-soaked, soul-deep, and rooted in reverence.

Yemaya
(yeh-mah-YAH)
Yemaya is an Orisha, or deity, in the Yoruba religion and its New World expressions such as Santería and Candomblé. She is the revered goddess of the sea, protector of women, and a symbol of motherhood, healing, and emotional strength. Often depicted as a nurturing, powerful figure, Yemaya embodies the deep, nurturing power of the ocean—mysterious, vast, and life-giving. In Caribbean culture, she is honored with offerings, music, and dance, representing divine feminine energy and the essence of home and harmony.
